The Arlington Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce that Floyd Wine has been named volunteer of the month.
After retiring from Bell Helicopter in December 2007 after more than 38 years of service, Floyd began volunteering at both Tierra Verde Golf Club and Lake Arlington Golf Course the following year.
Floyd continues to be very active in the community, volunteering for Dallas Leukemia Foundation, Special Olympics Texas, Cowtown Marathon, UTA Cadet Corps Alumni Council Executive Board and the March of Dimes.
When Floyd isn't volunteering, the amateur pilot spends time flying or deejaying weddings, parties, reunions and other special events.
