Over the past several months, MyArlingtonTx.com has shared a number of American Dream Stories featuring people with ties to this great city.

This week, we'd like to highlight Miss Persis Dance Studio, which began in 1954 in a three-story house. Now it's an Arlington institution located Downtown.

Persis Forster, the woman behind the dance studio that has touched so many people of all ages over the years, talked about living her American Dream right here in Arlington. Forster, a professional actress and Arlington icon, has a varied background in dance and theatre includes performing, directing, choreography and teaching at all levels. This includes teaching at the UT Arlington Drama Department for more than 18 years, founding Dance Theatre Arlington in 1981 and appearing  in leading principal roles at Casa Manana, Lyric Theatre in Oklahoma City, Carousel Dinner Theater in Ohio, Theatre Arlington and Lyric Theatre in Irving.
