Several areas along the existing River Legacy Park Trail between mile markers four and six are currently being repaired and reconstructed due to erosion repairs.

Expected closures will occur until construction completion estimated at the end of summer 2015. Please be aware of trail closure signs during this time.

"Due to the natural erosion and migration of the Trinity River the need for periodic maintenance of the trail is needed,"said Eric Seebock, park planner.

Due to the unknown nature of shifting soils and riverbank erosion in the River Legacy Park Trail area there comes a time when needed repairs are required. At this time a total of three areas along the trail between mile markers four and six and one area at the pedestrian bridge at mile marker 1.75 are in need of repair and rerouting.

"The rerouting of a portion of the trail away from the severe riverbank erosion and the edge treatment of the trail will help ensure a safer trail users experience for years to come."Seebock said.

At the conclusion of these repairs the trail will be safer for all users.
