Arlington Police Sergeant Paul Rodriguez joins the ranks of department leaders who have served stints in the Arlington Police Department Media Office. Starting this week, Sgt. Rodriguez will run the day-to-day operations of the Media Office. He most recently supervised a specialized unit that conducts "hot spot " enforcement in an effort to target trending crime areas. Sgt. Rodriguez has also served in the Vice Unit, Narcotics Unit and Patrol. As with all members of the Media Office, Sgt. Rodriguez will provide a unique view and perspective on newsworthy incidents in the city.

For media inquiries, please include Sgt. Rodriguez in your emails to Media Relations Coordinator Tiara Richard and Media Office Lieutenant Christopher Cook. Consider Sgt. Rodriguez an additional point of contact for front-line questions for media. Additional members of the Media Office include, Officer Zhivonni McDonnell and Cheryel Carpenter.

Previous leaders, who spent time in the Media Office, include Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson, Arlington Police Deputy Chief Os Flores, Arlington Police Sergeant Jeffrey Houston, James Hawthorne (former APD Assistant Chief), Texas Rangers Vice President of Security Blake Miller (former APD Deputy Chief), Larry Jones (former APD Sergeant), Hugh Atwell (former APD Sergeant), and Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson (former APD Officer). All of our media partners are encouraged to join us in giving Sgt. Rodriguez a big welcome and encouraged to take it easy on him in those first few interviews.

Sergeant Paul Rodriguez can be reached at [email protected] and 817 459-5658.
