Community Invited to Learn

The public is invited learn about vehicle safety, burglary prevention and other useful tips at the Arlington Police Department Entertainment District Tourism Unit's 2nd Annual Summer Safety Expo.

The TOUR S.M.A.R.T. (Safety Means Always Remember to Think) expo is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 in Downtown Arlington. Activities, demonstrations and information booths will be set up in the Pinnacle Corporation parking lot at 201 E. Abram St., east of City Hall.

The purpose of the Safety Fair is to educate and empower our residents, tourists and business partners on safety and prevention.

In addition to family fun activities and giveaways, the expo will include demonstrations, information and and tourism safety tidbits from the Arlington police and fire departments, Tarrant County Auto Theft Task Force, Driving While Intoxicated Unit, Code Compliance, CERT, American Red Cross, Arlington Animal Services, Theatre Arlington and more.

"We have incorporated fun ways to learn about safety and we'll also have lots of activities for the kids," Sgt. Jakisha Jones said.

The free event is held in partnership with Downtown Arlington Corporation and the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau.
