The City of Arlington has opened a Resident Information Center to assist people living near the site of a gas well incident in Southwest Arlington.

The Center will open at 10 a.m. Sunday at Arlington Fire Training Center at 5501 Ron McAndrew Drive.

Saturday afternoon, Vantage Energy, the operator of the LABC gas well, reported that an issue materialized with the fracking operation that resulted in flow back of pressurized fracking water.

Crews from Arlington Fire and Police, Vantage Energy and Boots & Coots, a well control company, are working together to control the incident.

As a precaution, a limited evacuation is still in effect for the following areas:

  • Oak Bourne Drive
  • Englishtown Drive
  • Willowdale Drive
  • Jewell Drive

No emergency shelters are opened currently.
As of 10am Sunday, no gas release has occurred.
Arlington Fire Department and the City of Arlington will provide regular updates on social media until the situation is resolved.
