Arlington's 9th Annual Ecofest Event
Whether you're interested in the latest "green" products and services or you just enjoy nature and the outdoors, mark your calendar now for the City of Arlington's 9th annual EcoFest on October 21. This free eco-friendly festival aims to raise environmental awareness while providing fun for the whole family. Activities include tree and mulch giveaways, demonstrations, vendor booths, children's activities and educational presentations. EcoFest is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Founders Plaza, located at 100 W. Abram Street across from Arlington City Hall.
Salvador Dali was a painter, designer, sculptor, writer and set designer. He was also a master engraver who could produce equally outstanding work in dry point, etching, woodcut or lithography. This exhibition features Dali's full series of Dante's The Divine Comedy, for which each of the lithographs presented required as many as 35 colors. There are a total of 101 pieces included in this exhibition. Salvador Dali: Visions of Eternity opens this Saturday, October 21 and runs until January 21, 2018. The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department's Food Truck Fridays lunch series in Downtown Arlington starts back up again this Friday, October 20. This event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Friday until November 3 at Founders Plaza, 100 W. Abram Street. The park is located next to the Levitt Pavilion, just south of Arlington City Hall. The food truck line-ups will be announced the Wednesday before each event at www.naturallyfun.org/foodtruck.
Live music continues this weekend at the Levitt Pavilion Arlington for the 2017 fall concert series in Downtown! This weekend's lineup includes Adam Hood on Friday, The Stray Cat Lee Rocker on Saturday and Alejandro Escovedo on Sunday. Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, will turn into the Fright Capital of Texas offering the Scariest Fright Fest Ever with an all-new scare zone, eye-catching and thrilling performance, plus a unique event that is appropriate for the holiday season. This year's Halloween festival runs through Sunday, October 29, 2017. To plan your visit in advance, head over to the Six Flags Over Texas for park hours and ticket information.
Theatre Arlington, which is one of the largest community theatres in the country, opened its 45th anniversary season with Bus Stop, an American classic comedy/drama. The show runs through October 22. Other scheduled shows through next August include the musicals, Plaid Tidings and Footloose, as well as A.R. Gurney's romantic comedy Sylvia. The performance schedule for Bus Stop is included below:

UTA Planetarium continues to offer shows to residents and visitors.
