Arlington's 9th Annual Ecofest Event

Whether you're interested in the latest "green" products and services or you just enjoy nature and the outdoors, mark your calendar now for the City of Arlington's 9th annual EcoFest on October 21. This free eco-friendly festival aims to raise environmental awareness while providing fun for the whole family. Activities include tree and mulch giveaways, demonstrations, vendor booths, children's activities and educational presentations. EcoFest is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Founders Plaza, located at 100 W. Abram Street across from Arlington City Hall.

Salvador Dali Exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art

Salvador Dali was a painter, designer, sculptor, writer and set designer. He was also a master engraver who could produce equally outstanding work in dry point, etching, woodcut or lithography. This exhibition features Dali's full series of Dante's The Divine Comedy, for which each of the lithographs presented required as many as 35 colors. There are a total of 101 pieces included in this exhibition. Salvador Dali: Visions of Eternity opens this Saturday, October 21 and runs until January 21, 2018. Arlington Parks - Recreation's Food Truck Friday Lunch Series

The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department's Food Truck Fridays lunch series in Downtown Arlington starts back up again this Friday, October 20. This event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Friday until November 3 at Founders Plaza, 100 W. Abram Street. The park is located next to the Levitt Pavilion, just south of Arlington City Hall. The food truck line-ups will be announced the Wednesday before each event at www.naturallyfun.org/foodtruck.

Levitt Pavilion Arlington's Fall Concert Series

Live music continues this weekend at the Levitt Pavilion Arlington for the 2017 fall concert series in Downtown! This weekend's lineup includes Adam Hood on Friday, The Stray Cat Lee Rocker on Saturday and Alejandro Escovedo on Sunday. Mark Chesnutt at Arlington Music Hall

Critics have hailed Mark Chesnutt as a classic country singer of the first order and some of country music's most elite entertainers, from George Jones to George Strait, echo the sentiment. He has 14 No. 1 hits, 23 top ten singles, four platinum albums and five gold records to his credit. Mark Chesnutt will take the stage this Friday, October 20, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. Residents and visitors can purchase tickets for this show on the Arlington Music Hall website or call the box office at 817-226-4400.

Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, will turn into the Fright Capital of Texas offering the Scariest Fright Fest Ever with an all-new scare zone, eye-catching and thrilling performance, plus a unique event that is appropriate for the holiday season. This year's Halloween festival runs through Sunday, October 29, 2017. To plan your visit in advance, head over to the Six Flags Over Texas for park hours and ticket information.

Bus Stop at Theatre Arlington

Theatre Arlington, which is one of the largest community theatres in the country, opened its 45th anniversary season with Bus Stop, an American classic comedy/drama. The show runs through October 22. Other scheduled shows through next August include the musicals, Plaid Tidings and Footloose, as well as A.R. Gurney's romantic comedy Sylvia. The performance schedule for Bus Stop is included below:

  • Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday - Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium continues to offer shows to residents and visitors. This includes Stars of the Pharaohs, a planetarium show that visitors on a journey to ancient Egypt to see how science was used to tell time, make a workable calendar, and align huge buildings.
