2016 Party on the Patio by Arlington Parks and Recreation

Arlington Parks and Recreation" s Party on the Patio 2016 at Tierra Verde Golf Club kicks off this Friday, June 24 with Texas-native band, The Pontiax! Enjoy an evening out with the entire family or make it a date night. The evening will be filled with food & drink specials and lots of fun! Feel free to bring blankets or lawn chairs for added comfort. Doors open at 6 p.m. and live music will run from 7-10 p.m. There is a $7 cover charge for adults, but kids ages 17 and under are free. 2016 City of Arlington Homeownership Fair

Thinking about buying a new home? Register now for the City of Arlington" s inaugural Homeownership Fair to learn more about buying a home in today" s real estate market, down payment assistance programs, credit repair and other topics. The Homeownership Fair is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at the Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ballpark Way. This event will offer informational sessions on topics such as mortgage lending, foreclosure prevention, affordable housing programs, weatherization, energy savings, insurance, city home repair programs and more.

Super Soaker Battle at Maverick Stadium

Navy veteran Kolton Krottinger is organizing a family-friendly water gun battle from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at the University of Texas at Arlington" s Maverick Stadium to raise money for charity and hopefully set a world record for the largest water gun fight. Tickets to participate will cost $10 and 35 percent of the proceeds will go to Hope for the Warriors. Participants must bring their own water guns but water refill stations will be set up around the stadium. Click here for more information or to purchase tickets.

Levitt Pavilion Summer Concert Series

The Levitt" s Summer Concert Season runs through July 17. Concerts are on Thursday through Sunday nights at 8 p.m. until July 7, when concerts begin later at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday morning Children" s Concerts are at 9:30 a.m. June 8-29, and the Levitt" s new Family Movie Nights are at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings June 8 through July 6. Levitt audiences are seated on an open lawn on blankets or lawn chairs. Picnics and coolers are welcome, but no glass containers, please. Free parking is available in lots all around the pavilion. Vivian Maier: Lost and Found Exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art

Virtually unknown photographer Vivian Maier took close to 200,000 photographs while she worked for over 40 years as a nanny primarily on Chicago" s North Shore. Born in New York City, Maier" s hauntingly beautiful images of street life in the City, Chicago, and Los Angeles weren" t discovered until the contents of an abandoned storage unit packed with hundreds of thousands of negatives, hundreds of rolls of film, some printed work and audio recordings were auctioned off. It was then that her talent came to light and told the story of a true creative genius whose life remains shrouded in mystery to this day. Join us for a celebration of life through the lens of Vivian Maier. The exhibit is open at Arlington Museum of Art until Sunday, August 21, 2016.

$1 Kid-Friendly Movies at Studio Movie Grill

Need an air-conditioned escape for your kids this summer? Studio Movie Grill in the Arlington Highlands is hosting its Children" s Summer Series Monday through Friday for $1. The Children" s Summer Series will run every week through Sept. 2. The movies change on a weekly basis but include several classic movies such as Shrek and Horton Hears a Who. All movies begin at 11 am. Whether the kids will be enjoying the movie for the first time or for the 10th, it" s a great way for the family to cool off on a hot summer day here in the American Dream City.
