The Lone Star Race Series: Arlington Mayor's 5K, 10K & Half-Marathon

The inaugural "Arlington Mayor's 5K"race will be on Sunday, April 26 starting at Levitt Pavilion in downtown Arlington. It's one of three races from The Lone Star Race Series on Sunday. The half-marathon takes place at 6:30 am, followed by the 10K at 7 am, the Mayor's 5K at 7:30 am and the after party at 8 am at Levitt Pavilion/Founders Plaza. Event organizers expect more than 2,000 people to run this year's "Arlington Mayor's 5K,"which will feature a scenic route that runs through the University of Texas at Arlington. All proceeds from the "Arlington Mayor's 5K"will help Ability Connection Texas provide exemplary service to current clients-children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.

26th Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta

The Cardboard Boat Regatta challenges amateur boat builders to design, build and navigate boats made entirely of corrugated cardboard. Come and enjoy the fun as you watch the masterful maneuvers of boats braving the waves at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor this Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. In addition to hosting the competition, the region's largest water park will open the popular Tornado ride plus two new rides this year - Tsunami Surge & Twister; and Hook's Lagoon for guests and participants to enjoy. Tickets can be purchased at River Legacy Living Science Center.

North Texas Firkin Fest at Globe Life Park

Adults in Arlington won't want to miss the North Texas Firkin Fest at Globe Life Park! This event is for all the beer enthusiasts in The American Dream City and surrounding areas to come out and taste rare cask ales from a variety of Texas breweries. General admission tickets are $35 and V.I.P tickets are $70. You must be 21 years of age or older to participate in this event. Families with kids under the age of 10 must be accompanied by parent or guardian and supervised at all times. Buzz Off for Kids with Cancer at Globe Life Park

Join One Mission for its "Buzz Off"event at Globe Life Park on Sunday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and show your support for kids in their fight against cancer. In this memorable event participants will shave their heads in honor and support of kids who don't have a choice in losing their hair. The registration fee is $35 for adults or $25 for kids 12 and under. For registration, donation, or sponsorship information please visit www.buzzforkids.org. Proceeds raised will benefit Children's Medical Center Dallas to ensure kids and their families receive help during this difficult time. One Mission's goal is to raise $1.5 million dollars between the "Buzz Off"event at Globe Life Park and the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA on June 7.

Everyone Loves A Piano! at South Street Patio

If you are looking for your next date night destination then South Street Patio is the place to be on Saturday, April 26. Classical chamber music from composers such as Brahms and Debussy will be performed by Timeless Concerts. Symphony pianist Heejung Kang will be featured on several piano solos with concert producer and violinist Lee Anne Chenoweth and cellist Karen Maddox Smith. Tenor Don O'Neal LeBlanc and soprano Lucy Tamez Creech will perform opera arias. Tickets range from $29 per person, $25 for senior citizens, or $15 for college students ages 18-22. Tickets include a dessert, fruit, and cheese buffet and post-concert dancing by pianist Steve Troud. The Timeless Concerts series includes classical, contemporary and international music; produced by Chenoweth of Arlington, former Fort Worth Symphony violinist. Burk Collins Country Presents: George Jones Tribute Show

Looking for some country music in Downtown Arlington this weekend? Head over to Arlington Music Hall for the George Jones Tribute Show presented by Burk Collins Country and featuring special guest Tony Dance. This is an event for music fans of all ages and it all kicks off Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for children ages 12 and under and $17 each for groups of 10 people or more.
