#1 New York Times Best-Selling Author Sandra Brown Proud to Call Arlington Home

Sandra Brown has been living her American Dream as a #1 New York Times best-selling author of more than 70 novels and is proud to call herself a long-time Arlington resident.

Some of her most popular novels include Mean Streak, Deadline, Low Pressure, Lethal, Rainwater, Tough Customer, andSmash Cut, all of which have jumped onto the New York Times best-seller list in the number one to five spot. Brown's most recent book is Seeing Red, which published in 2017. She now has an incredible 70 million copies of her books in print worldwide, and her work has been translated into 33 languages.

"I'm living my dream because I've been doing this for a long time and I've been so enormously blessed to be able to do what I love to do," Brown said.

In March 2017, Sandra Brown was the first guest of the Arlington Public Library's inaugural Building A Dream Gala at the Arlington Museum of Art. Brown and her husband Michael are long-time library supporters and see the library as a hub of everything to be proud of in Arlington. She currently serves as honorary chair of the Dream: CENTRAL capital campaign for the new Downtown Library, set to open June 16, 2018.

"I am so excited about our new library," Brown said. "I was introduced to the architectural renderings and I caught my breath. It's going to be amazing."

Brown recently was given an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Texas Christian University. She was named Thriller Master for 2008, the top award given by the International Thriller Writer's Association. Other awards include the 2007 Texas Medal of Arts Award for Literature and the Romance Writers of America's Lifetime Achievement Award.
