Traffic-Alert

As part of the Bardin Road Bridge reconstruction, the westbound Interstate 20 ramp to southbound SH 360 will be closed for construction starting at 9 p.m. Friday, March 3 through 6 a.m. Monday, March 6, weather permitting.

Drivers should expect delays, and alternate routes are encouraged.

In February, the Texas Department of Transportation awarded the emergency contract to repair the Bardin Road bridge for $1.2 million to SCR Civil Construction, LLC. The bridge, which was severely damaged by fire, will have repairs to replace the beams and the bridge deck where the fire damaged the bridge.

Completion of the repairs is scheduled for this spring. Incentives for early completion are included in the contract, as well as penalties for late completion.

Safety is a top priority at TxDOT, and the foundation for the agency's planning, building and maintaining of projects across the state. When driving through a work zone, some simple steps to take are: slow down, pay attention, avoid distractions such as cell phones, be patient and plan ahead. TxDOT appreciates the patience of motorists, and encourages attention to all warning signs within the construction work zone while crews work diligently to complete this work as quickly and as safely as possible.
