UTA Spotlight: New Director Named for Center for African American Studies

Greetings from The American Dream City! Be sure to tune into the sixth installment of UTA Spotlight, a weekly news update on events and happenings around Arlington.

Among this week's top stories:

  • Dr. Jason Shelton was recently named the new director of the university's Center for African American Studies. Dr. Shelton hopes to grow the minor, continue to teach classes and see the center grow.
  • The UTA Lady Mav's won against the Troy Trojans 78-72 to continue to hold on to their 2nd place standing in the Sunbelt Conference. Cierra Johnson led the team to victory with 22 points.
  • UTA students tell their experiences with study abroad. The university offers more than 500 study abroad programs in more than 22 countries.
