UTA Spotlight: Deaf Student-Athlete Lands Spot on Track Team

Greetings from The American Dream City! Be sure to tune into the newest installment of UTA Spotlight, a weekly news update featuring broadcasting students reporting on events, projects, announcements and other key news and happenings on the university campus and around Arlington.

This week's stories include:

  • Gareth Ashton, a student-athlete who has been deaf since birth, has landed a spot on the UTA track team.
  • UTA student Estrella Gonzales identifies politically as a conservative, and she started an organization on campus to promote conservative vocalism and views.
