Adoption Mall

  • As of October 1, 2020, shelter guests will no longer need to make an appointment to visit the adoption mall.
  • During this phase of the reopening process, 75% occupancy will be permitted, until further notice.
  • When visiting the Animal Services Center, Guests are required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing and are requested to follow the City of Arlington’s COVID-19 Safety Guidelines.
  • License and register your Arlington pet at the service counter without an appointment. For your convenience, online animal licensing is also available.

Please note: Stray animal drop-off and owner surrender animals are by appointment only until further notice. Call 817-459-6156 and talk with an Animal Admissions Specialist.

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, and October 29 is National Cat Day!

On October 29 (one day only!), the adoption fee for all adoptable cats and dogs will be reduced to $10 per adoption in honor of National Cat Day!

Search Filter Tips 

The Arlington Animal Services has three categories of animals available in the shelter. An available animal has become the property of Arlington Animal Services. If there is an animal, you are interested in click on the picture of the animal for more information. The availability is listed at the bottom of each animal under Stage:

Available – These animals are available for adoption at the shelter and it is first come first serve. These animals, after evaluation, have met the criteria for immediate adoption to the public.

VIP – These animals are available for adoption to the public and have reduced adoption fee. Animals are listed as VIP for reasons that include the following: time in shelter, available space in shelter, senior pet over 8 years of age, heartworm positive dogs, FIV positive cats, behavior and/or special needs of the animal, or at the discretion of the Kennel Supervisor or Shelter Manager.

VIP Rescue Only - These animals can only be transferred to an Arlington Animal Services approved rescue partner. Click here for a list of approved rescue partners or for information on how to become an approved rescue partner.
