Arlington Celebrates ACTIV Recreation Center Opening on March 26, 2025

Celebrate the grand opening of the ACTIV, Arlington’s new 73,000-square-feet recreation center for adults ages 50 and older, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The community is invited to join City leaders for a dedication of the new facility and a ribbon cutting.

Doors will officially open at 2 p.m. at 2061 W. Green Oaks Blvd., just east of the Fire Training Center, near the Woodland Park Boulevard intersection. After the ceremony, enjoy light refreshments and take a tour of Arlington’s newest and largest recreation center.

Grand Opening Details

The state-of-the-art facility, approved by Arlington voters in a special bond election in May 2017, will provide indoor and outdoor programming for adults ages 50 and older.

Amenities include a full-court gymnasium, an indoor lap pool and an indoor hydrotherapy pool, four pickleball courts, a fitness area and a walking track. Social amenities will include a lounge with billiards, a special events space, arts and crafts room and more. Outdoor amenities will include a patio, outdoor walking trails, six pickleball courts, and a community garden.

ACTIV memberships can be used at any City of Arlington Recreation Center. Parks & Recreation offers three tiers of recreation center memberships, Blue, Green and Gold, with pricing based on the types of amenities and activities patrons are seeking to access.
