Here are a few ways you can enjoy your weekend in The American Dream City.

Arlington Renegades Home Game

The Arlington Renegades are on a winning streak at Choctaw Stadium. Come cheer them on at 11 a.m. this Sunday as they face conference rivals, DC Defenders, and aim for a 4-0 record at home. Be one of the first 1,500 fans through the gates to receive a Renegades rally towel, courtesy of the Texas Army National Guard. And for the kids? The first 750 kids (12 & under) will receive free admission to the Crayola Experience and a pack of Crayola markers. Stick around after the game for Renegades Recess and a tasty frozen treat - your kiddo's chance to run, drill, and play on the field like a prof while enjoying a tasty frozen treat courtesy of the Arlington Renegades! Veritex Bank Championship Returns to Arlington April 21-27, 2025

The Veritex Bank Championship returns to Texas Rangers Golf Club from April 21-27, 2025. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the link through the tournament website. Along with Arlington residents, all active-duty military, reservists, veterans, and first responders receive free admission to the tournament rounds. Parking passes are available for purchase on the Veritex Bank Championship ticketing website. Spectators will park at Globe Life Field in Prius Lot F, located at 1000 Ballpark Way, Arlington, TX 76011. Shuttles will open at 7 a.m. and run until 8 p.m. April 24-27.

Wicked Threads: The Artistry of Costume in Oz at the Arlington Museum of Art

Following the release of the highly anticipated film, the Arlington Museum of Art will debut a collection of costumes from Wicked (2024) celebrating the artistry of the costume design and twenty-one years of the beloved Broadway musical Wicked. Ticket information and hours about the Wicked exhibition. The exhibition runs through Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Little Explorers – Downtown Library

Stop by The Children’s Play Room at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library on 10 a.m. Fridays for a morning of play-based learning.  This come-and-go program will vary week-to-week as librarians explore art, math, science, engineering, and fine motor skills.  Join the Arlington Public Library for a playfully discover the world around us! Family Storytime – Southeast Branch Library

Join the Arlington Public Library’s fabulous library staff to sing, read and wiggle during storytime at the Southeast Branch Library 10:30 a.m. Fridays. This storytime is geared for ages 2-5. They will read books, sing songs, and have an activity after the program each week. Education Days at Six Flags Over Texas

Education Days at Six Flags Over Texas offer knowledge and fun in one sweet deal. Students will explore math, science, and physics by observing (and RIDING) the mechanics of world-class coasters, thrill rides and more. With discount admission, meal packages and workbooks, we’ve got everything you need to inspire the next generation of scientists. Grab your spot before anyone else. Kick back, relax and take credit for the best field trip ever! Starting at 1 p.m. and with another show at 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, join at the park for a fun and interactive presentation put on by Mad Science DFW! This STEM-themed presentation will resonate with the technology/physics used at the park. The presentations will be at The Southern Palace.

Make ‘n Take Terrarium

Learn how to make a terrarium and let your green thumb thrive all year long. The event takes place 1-2:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at the River Legacy Nature Center. This class is for 5-10 year olds. NO REFUNDS for absences or cancellations (including weather). Your payment will be considered a donation to environmental education. Link to register.

Levitt Pavilion Spring Concert Series

Levitt Pavilion Arlington’s Spring Concert Series kicks its season off 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025 with  Josh Weathers feat. Goldpine, and continuing in the weekend at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, with La Diferenzia feat. Angelica y Grupo Moneda. These concerts are free. Open seating is available on the lawn. Please bring blankets and lawn chairs. You also can bring your own food and coolers with beverages, including alcohol, but no glass containers, please. Parking is free. The Arlington Music Hall has shows you can enjoy starting 7 p.m. Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26, 2025, as Grace Preparatory Academy proudly presents Once Upon a Mattress. Then 5 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025, it’s X1 Entertainment Presents: The Comeback Tour.

Spring Gardens Salsa Party in Sports & Social at Texas Live! Get ready to dance, sip, and celebrate with Salsa at the Gardens. Enjoy drink specials and nonstop music, the energy will be unmatched. Get your salsa on from 9 p.m. until close Friday, April 25, 2025. This is a free event and for those 21 years of age and older.

Lake Arlington Garden Activity Day

Arlington Water Utilities and Tarrant Regional Water District are working with local conservation stakeholders and community groups to restore native prairie and wildflowers to 2.75 acres of land adjacent to the Lake Arlington Dam. This gated area at 5500 Lake Arlington Drive also features demonstration garden beds with native plants. It takes place 9-11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025..

Arlington Garden Club Plant Sale

The Arlington Garden Club's next plant sale of native and adapted perennial plants and houseplants is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Fielder Museum.

Downtown Arlington Farmers Market

The Downtown Arlington Farmers Market runs every Saturday through November from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Front and Center Streets. The market will feature fresh, locally-source produce, unique artisan goods and community connection.

Community Care Fair

Arlington residents are invited to participate in an upcoming Community Care Fair 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the East Library and Recreation Center. The event is free and open to the public. The fair will include a variety of health, wellness and community organizations as well healthy living classes in English and Spanish, giveaways, and more. Vendors will share information about gardening, counseling, dental care, healthy living, wellness, immunization, and information about Pre-K enrollment at Arlington ISD.

Adopting a Wilderness State of Mind

A walk in the park can be more fulfilling when you adjust your mind, body and attitude so that you can be accepted by your surroundings. Learn how to approach your entrance and how to control the concentric rings of emotion before you walk into the woods. The event takes place 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the River Legacy Nature Center. Please bring an outdoor folding chair. Link to register.

Chess Club Tournament

The Arlington Public Library’s Chess Club is excited to offer this tournament, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Southwest Branch Library Community Room. Students between the ages of 7 and 16 are invited to participate in this five-round, Swiss-style, non-elimination tournament. No Fee required; however players need to register for tournament between 9:30-9:45 a.m. on event day. First round begins at 10 a.m. with other rounds following as games are finished. Students have a chance to play five games. Plaques will be awarded to the 1st through 5th place winners! Plaques provided by Arlington Chess Club. Players will need to follow these rules: Silent Play, Silent Observation or Visit the library when not playing, and One Touch. Silent Book Club

The book club with no assigned reading and no pressure! They meet once a month at local spots around Arlington & Grand Prairie to read, drink, and be in community with other bookworms. Bring any book you choose, enjoy some refreshments, and stay for optional socializing just before and after the reading time. Meetup location is Chill Coffee & Wine Bar located at 3990 N Collins St Suite 100, in Arlington from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Creature Feature: Ferrets  

Join River Legacy Nature Center 2-2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, for this month’s Creature Features, as you are introduced to their playful ferret ambassadors, Tony & Lucas! These curious critters have quite the story to tell, and you’ll get an up-close look at their fascinating behaviors, unique adaptations, and role in the ecosystem. Deja Vu in Concert @ Division Brewing

Vision & Verse: A Celebration of Arab Heritage

Celebrate Arab American Heritage Month with Poetry, Storytelling, and Fashion in a two-day celebration April 26 – 27, 2025 honoring the rich traditions and voices of the Arab diaspora. Experience the power of poetry, storytelling, and fashion as we showcase both traditional and contemporary works. Both events will feature stunning traditional Arabic clothing displays and delicious refreshments. You are invited to celebrate, reflect, and connect with the vibrant literary and cultural traditions of the Arab world.

Engage in a thought-provoking conversation with Dr. Hatem Al-Sakr, a distinguished Iraqi literary critic, writer, and academic as he sits down with Jordanian novelist Nemah Ayyad. They will discuss the historical depth and personal influences in Ayyad’s work, followed by an interactive Q&A. Afterward, take part in our open mic, where attendees are encouraged to share poetry, stories, or music celebrating their Arab heritage. Wearing traditional Arabic attire is warmly welcomed.

Immerse yourself in poetry performed in both Arabic and English by acclaimed Iraqi poet Hasan Al-Nassar, whose work powerfully reflects on war, exile, and resilience—particularly the struggles of war-widowed women. Haidar Mazen, a local educator, translator, and video journalist, will provide English translations.

Family Bat Night

Experience an exciting Family Bat Night 6 – 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at River Legacy Nature Center, where you’ll discover the fascinating world of bats through engaging activities, an expert presentation, and an outdoor bat search! Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore the wonders of bats and their vital role in nature.

Step outside with our Naturalists and use a Wildlife Acoustics Echo Meter Touch 2 Bat Detector to listen for and identify bats flying through the night sky!

Sunday Brunch

Ventana Grille at the Tierra Verde Golf Club clubhouse is now serving brunch from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. each Sunday.
