Matisse Matsumoto, a senior on Lamar High School’s tennis team, has been selected as the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for April 2025.
Matsumoto, a captain for the Vikings, earned the Viking Fight Never Dies award at Lamar for his leadership and determination.
“When we talk about being a captain, and we talk about some of those leadership characteristics, Matisse no doubt has those as apart of his standard of life,” said Matthew Matus, Lamar High School Head Tennis Coach. “Whenever it’s go time, you get the best of Matisse.”
After high school, Matsumoto plans on attending the University of Central Florida to major in Computer Science and become a Video Game Designer.
