Texas Rangers To Commemorate Decade of 1990's During Minnesota Series

As part of the Texas Rangers season-long celebration of the team’s 50 years in the Lone Star State, players and events from the 1990’s will be the focus during this weekend’s series with the Minnesota Twins at Globe Life Field.
The Rangers and Twins will play on Friday, July 8 at 7:05 p.m., Saturday, July 9 at 3:05 p.m., and Sunday, July 10 at 1:35 p.m.
Among the players scheduled to participate in the July 8-9 weekend are pitchers John Burkett and Bobby Witt, catcher Dave Valle, infielders Kevin Elster and Mark McLemore, and designated hitter Mickey Tettleton. All six players were members of the 1996 Rangers that won the first A.L. West Division championship in franchise history. Tettleton, who had 24 homers, 83 RBI, and 95 walks in 1996, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Friday night.
The New Era Alumni Autograph Alley on the Globe Life Field main concourse will feature Burkett, Tettleton, and Witt on Friday, July 8 from 5:15-6:15 and Elster, McLemore, and Valle on Saturday, July 9 from 1:30-2:15.

--50th Anniversary Promotional Giveaways: On Friday, July 8 the first 15,000 fans in the ballpark will receive a 50th Anniversary Texas Mt. Crushmore Statue presented by TXU Energy. The statue includes likenesses of the top four home run hitters in Rangers’ history (homers with Texas only): Juan Gonzalez (372), Rafael Palmeiro (321), Ivan Rodriguez (217), and Adrian Beltre (199).
On Saturday, June 9, the first 15,000 fans will receive a Corey Seager Bobblehead presented by Medical City Healthcare. On Sunday, July 10, the first 15,000 fans will receive a pack of 1990’s 50th Anniversary Rangers Baseball Cards presented by Globe Life. The 1990’s cards are the third in a series of five different sets of Rangers’ 50th Anniversary Baseball Cards being given away in 2022.
