Sublett Road

This project aims to rebuild W. Sublett Road, between Joplin Road and the west city limits, from a two-lane county type road to a three-lane concrete road. Additional improvements planned to be completed under this project include the following:

  • Water utility infrastructure renewals
  • Storm drain infrastructure improvements
  • Construction of a new bridge over Kee Branch
  • Construction of sidewalks with ADA compliant pedestrian ramps
  • Installation of bike lanes
  • Street light improvements
  • Pavement markings

Funding for this project was approved by Arlington voters as part of the $138M Street Improvements package in the 2018 Bond Election and the Tarrant County 2006 Transportation Bond Program.

Project Updates

Construction began in March 2023 and is anticipated to be completed in November 2024. As of March 2024, the project is substantially complete. Over the next few weeks additional grading and punch-list items will take place to finalize the completion of the project.


A public meeting to learn more about the scope of this project was held on Wednesday, November 16 2022, from 6-7 p.m. in the Media Center Room of Kennedale High School, located at 901 Wildcat Way, Kennedale, TX 76060.
