Arlington Family to Close on Their First Home
City’s New Neighborhood Stabilization Program Makes It
Possible
Arlington’s first vacant, foreclosed home will soon be
purchased by a qualified homebuyer through the city’s new
Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
The closing is scheduled for 3 p.m. today at Luna and Luna
Attorney and Counselors at Law located at 816 W. Airport
Freeway, Suite 301 in Hurst.
Arlington’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program provides home
buyer assistance by helping qualified families realize the
American dream of homeownership while stabilizing and
improving neighborhoods in one of two target areas in
Arlington.
The home buyer is Dan Nguyen. Thirteen more applications are
currently in the approval process, according to David
Zappasodi, the city’s assistant director of Community
Services Department.
The Nguyen family of four had been house hunting for about
four months when they heard about the City’s program through
radio and newspaper articles, Zappasodi said. The Nguyen’s
had been living with family in Arlington for the past few
years.
“The goal of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program is to
eliminate vacant, often neglected, foreclosed homes in
Arlington neighborhoods, while creating homeownership
opportunities for qualified households,” Zappasodi said.
Individuals interested in purchasing a home as their primary
residence through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program can
