Child
Care Worker’s Permit
The Child Care Worker’s Permit is required for all persons who own
a child care center, or whose work involves caring for children.
Permits are obtained by attending a 2-hour training class on child
care safety and sanitation, food safety, and communicable disease
prevention. The Child Care Worker’s Permit costs $20.00 and is valid
for three years.
Child Care Plan Review
All new or remodeled child care centers are required to submit
plans to be reviewed for compliance with health code regulations. As
a part of this process, construction or structural design
inspections are performed. All facilities must go through this
process before a health permit to operate can be issued. In addition
to the health permit, a certificate of occupancy is also required.
The certificate of occupancy can be obtained through the Building
Inspection Dept., which is located at City Hall, 101 W. Abram.
