EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS :: FLU INFORMATION

What is a pandemic? A pandemic is a global outbreak of disease that occurs when a new virus appears or emerges in the human population, causes serious illness, and then spreads from person to person worldwide.

As of April 27, 2009, human cases of swine influenza have been identified in the United States.

The City of Arlington is helping to educate its residents about this important health threat and the steps that can be taken to protect themselves and their families.

To learn more, visit www.cdc.gov/swineflu for information in English and Spanish.

Visit the Department of Health and Human Services website and learn more about it.
