Weather alert radios
Are available to the general public for approximately $50. These
electric-powered radios have back up battery power. They sound an
alarm when the National Weather Service issues a bulletin, including a
severe weather watch or warning. Weather alert radios provide an
excellent measure of safety for homes, businesses and schools.
Outdoor
weather warning systems
Most common method for continuous monitoring of weather conditions.
The City's outdoor weather warning system has 48 sirens that alert
people who are outdoors to seek shelter. The system is tested on the
first Wednesday of every month at 1:00 p.m. weather permitting. If you
would like a reminder each month,

our Citizen Notification Service and sign up to receive the
OEM/Emergency Management Notices.
