Community Services Educator, Chris Huff and Animal Services Manager,
Jay Sabatucci, presented an award to the staff of Freebirds on
Saturday, October 31, 2009, recognizing them for their participation
in the Animal Services Center Volunteer Program. Freebirds have
increased their participation at the shelter to nine staff member
volunteers. These volunteers donate their personal time at the
animal shelter every Tuesday afternoon. They work kennels, "meet and
greet", help with socialization of the animals and provide
assistance in the animal receiving area. This engaged group is
committed to giving their time and energy to the animals at the
shelter. Much appreciation to Freebirds for giving back to the
community.

Donations of time and supplies are appreciated. The shelter animals
are on a special diet, and food donations are another way to
