Approximately 4 million cats end up in shelters every year.
Thousands of kittens are born during the spring and summer, and many
end up in animal shelters waiting for loving homes. To promote
adoptions, the American Humane Society observes Adopt-a-Cat Month in
June. Locally, the Arlington Animal Services Center is offering free
micro-chipping, core vaccinations and rabies vaccinations for all
cats adopted during the remainder of the month of June 2009.
