30 SECONDS WITH MARNIE AND MORGAN

1) What's your name? Marnie Simmons and my niece Morgan Simmons (age 8)

2) Nick name? None....but actually another volunteer, Michelline, calls us both "Animal Santa Claus" because everytime we come we have new toys and treats to hand out to the dogs and cats. :)

3) How long have you been a volunteer? Both-November 2007

4) Where are you from? I live in Addison, TX and Morgan lives in Hurst, TX

5) What music CD do you like? 80's all the way, and Morgan loves Hanna Montana and Jonas Brothers

6) What's the last movie you saw? The Ugly Truth-funny as heck :) ....Not sure for Morgan

7) What's your favorite animal? Cats

8) What's your favorite reality show? None

9) What book are you reading right now? People Magazine-no books Morgan reads too many to keep up with :)

10) Where was your last vacation? Hawaii for me and Austin for Morgan

11) What's your favorite quote or saying? "You live and you learn!!"

12) What's your favorite hobby? Sports and Animals for both of us!

13) How much time do you spend volunteering per week? Average 4-5 hours per week for both of us.

14) What do you enjoy most about volunteering? Marnie and Morgan says, "Spending time with the animals and making them feel a little more comfortable and happy whether its just giving them a toy to play with , a blanket to be more comfortable, or handing out treats to make their day a little more brighter. Its the little things that count with the animals and when they look at you with those "eyes" and smile back at you and give you licks "kisses" you know you made their day, even if it was just for that moment. And that 's what makes our day brighter as well. Every day we look forward to coming to the shelter to volunteer, it makes our day as well."
