10) Where was your last vacation? What vacation? I haven't had a vacation in years, but did get to go back home and see my family last September.

11) What's your favorite quote or saying? "If you don't like fur, don't come to visit me."

12) What's your favorite hobby? "Other" than spending time with shelter dogs and animal rescue activities, my hobbies are landscaping and reading (when time permits.)

13) How much time do you spend volunteering per week? The time I spend has varied over the years, when not employed I would spend four full days a week at "old" AAS, more recently, just a few hours, one to two days per week.

14) What do you enjoy most about volunteering? The satisfaction of knowing I can make a difference in a dog's life. I can spend time with a dog and get to know their personality and by doing so, I can make their time at the shelter less stressful. I talk to and counsel potential adopters, sharing my knowledge about the individual dogs that I meet; I ask adopters questions to help ensure the dog they select will fit into their lifestyle. Often, the information I discover about the dog is important to the adopter. It helps them made an informed decision on who to adopt. My "reward" is knowing in my heart that I helped that dog find a new home.
